The first streetcar comes to the village, causing a population boom and making it the biggest in the West Metro

The village name is changed to Hopkins
1934
The first Raspberry Festival is held in Hopkins
1947
Hopkins becomes a city

The settlement of Hopkins, MN, began in the early 1850s, before Minnesota was even a state. It was first incorporated as the Village of West Minneapolis in 1893 and wasn't called Hopkins until 1928.
